The opening of the exhibition "Imagining the Marmara: City Life Exhibition" (Marmara’yı Hayal Etmek: Şehirde Yaşam Sergisi) took place on 24 January 2024, with the participation of project partners and guests at İskele.
Organized in collaboration with Arkki Türkiye and the Marmara Municipalities Union (Marmara Belediyeler Birliği), with the support of Kalebodur and hosted by 13 municipalities from the Marmara Region, the "Imagining the Marmara: City Life" workshops engaged children aged 7-12 in envisioning the environments they want to live in. As part of MARUF on the Go, 187 children living in the Marmara Region produced innovative solutions for an inclusive, sustainable, and nature-friendly city.
The project aimed to instill in children an awareness of urban and built environment consciousness through sustainable and inclusive approaches. It also sought to create awareness in children about perceiving living spaces and the immediate surroundings from a design perspective, and enable them to express their ideas using two and three-dimensional representation methods.
In order to share the ideas developed by children for more livable cities with a wider audience, the "Imagining the Marmara: City Life Exhibition" remained open for visitation until 14 February.
